SHIRINE REHMANI was born and raised in Orange County, California and has been dancing for over 18 years. She has trained in ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, contemporary, modern, pointe and some folk styles. She attended Orange County High School of the Arts (OCSA) in the Commercial Dance Conservatory. She recently graduated from University of California, Irvine with a BFA in Dance Choreography and a BA in International Studies. While at UCI, Shirine trained with Molly Lynch, Shaun Boyle, Tong Wang, Chad Hall, Sheron Wray, Salmeeha Knight, and Loretta Livingston. She has over six years of experience choreographing. While at UCI, she had the opportunity to choreograph and present her own original works for department dance concerts as well as producing her own evening-length thesis concert. She has been a guest performer with Backhausdance at the McCallum Theater in Palm Desert. In August 2015, she was selected as one of four LA-based emerging choreographers to present work as part of the Breaking Glass Project, an organization founded by Ellenore Scott that supports emerging female choreographers. Since then she has had the opportunity to present her work at Friends/Family/Fun Dance Festival, Pasadena Dance Festival, MixMatch Dance Festival and Homegrown at the Bootleg Theater. She is active with the non-profit organization, Movement Exchange, traveling to Panama to teach dance at the university and orphanages as well as doing local dance outreach in the community. She is currently based out of Southern California. Since graduating, she has performed in The Fyber Vision under Artistic Director, Elke Calvert. She was previously a dancer in Josh Romero’s FUSE Company Inc. She recently completed her Pilates Certification through the Teacher Training Program at Studio du Corps with Diane Diefenderfer.
